A different shade of green

Having spent the last two years working for a large agency, you can sometimes feel like a cog in an advertising production machine. This was one of the things that attracted me to Sharp. They have a huge focus on ideas and imagination, and, of course, I get to explore the bright lights of Huddersfield. My first month has lived up to what I had hoped and I have enjoyed the variety of working for a truly integrated agency.

In my brief career at Sharp, I have learnt to adapt to a variety of situation, as no two days are the same. For example, I can spend one morning measuring bathroom windows for a vinyl design and the next in conversation with an Austrian domino artist trying to organise a large-scale domino rally! This is the element of the job that I love and that keeps me excited to go to work. Also, Sharp has more of a family feel than places I have worked in the past. I feel like I have joined a team, where from the partners down, everyone is friendly and willing to help with any query I have had.

After spending much of my career working on Asda, I am excited to turn my hand to a different shade of green with OVO. My early experiences with the work on the OVO account have been good and I am enjoying working for a client who is eager to try new technologies and not scared to do things a bit differently.

The SHARP Agency notebook

Whilst my first month has had its challenges work wise, there has been no greater challenge than my travel to work. Having my bike stolen at the end of my first week, I decided to purchase a car. I really enjoyed my first drive to work, however, it broke down that evening and had to spend the rest of the week in the garage. Despite these minor setbacks, I seem to have now cracked the commute and I’m looking forward to getting up to speed with all things Sharp.
